Aren't these just loooooovely?! They're my fabrics for my first few Style School projects ^_^ And maybe a couple others, too! The ones on the left are from Jo-Ann Fabric (purple and yellow are denim, the patterned are cotton). The ones on the right are from Stitch Lab! All my favorite colors....*does a happy dance*
Ta-ta for now! ♥

Hearts for Haiti
I was supposed to be sewing Style School projects, but then I found this:
"This is an Etsy collective of donated items from hundreds of Etsy shops to raise money to rebuild Haiti. 100% of the proceeds from this shop (minus Etsy fees and Paypal fees) go directly to DoctorsWithoutBorders (http://doctorswithoutborders.org ) in bi-monthly increments...All items include seller-donated free shipping (most worldwide, see individual listing) because the need is SO great, we want you to buy and help support Etsians helping Haiti."
And I just had to help! I just donated this little guy to the shop:

I hope you like him ^_^ His little heart makes me happy.
Moral of the story: Donate by either giving an item to sell or buying something special. Think about it: get something cool for yourself while donating to charity. And free shipping! Perfect deal, no? ;)

Home Inspiration
Here's my Style School homework: Home Inspiration! Leave it to the architecture degree holder to have to narrow it down to four pages when my others are one or two! Oh well :)
We've got the bed and bath:
Studio space:
Living room for real living:
And the kitchen and dining room - some of my favorite places :)
Hmmm....I didn't do much in the way of exterior shots >_< Probably because I'm in love with sooo many styles! I guess I'll get to work on some more pages *hehe*

Yarn-Wrapped Wreath and Polaroid Record Frame
Here's my first Style School project! A yarn-wrapped wreath! I've been wanting to make one for a while, and I finally got an excuse (hehe). I found this gorgeous heather gray yarn just for this project. I made the flowers from t-shirt fabric, and cut the leaves from a cerulean cotton (originally used for Tammy's bag). I love the colors! The flowers are held on by pins, so it will be really easy to switch them out for different seasons/occasions. Maybe I'll make some hearts for V-Day ;)
Next came a record frame project. I used a couple tutorials to give my photos a vintage feel. Here are the photos I printed out:
And the finished product (hard to photograph a frame :P):
I'm having fun so far! Can't wait to start the next project :D
Oh, and I'll be uploading photos to my Flickr as I go - in case I don't have time to blog about each project :) Glad to finally be using it again!

Wardrobe Inspiration
Here's my Style School homework: Wardrobe Inspiration!
First is coats, dresses, and outfits:
Then shoes and accessories!
Many of these are from etsy sellers ^_^
So I love layers, bright colors, really girly, and rather masculine clothes. Hmm..
What are your defining styles?

January Knit for a Cause
Last night was a huge success!!! We had a great turnout - over 30 people made it out to knit for South African orphans. We took over three rooms of the Stitch Lab! I'm going to have to scout out a new location for February :D I'm so excited!
We knit 19 squares, which is almost enough to make a baby/toddler blanket. All in one evening! And many more will be added this week. Last night's plus last month's squares make enough for a medium sized blanket. I'm amazed.
[If you've been working on some squares, please drop them off at the Stitch Lab (1000 S. First St.). Becky will collect them and I will pick them up this weekend to mail to South Africa. Can't wait to see how many we get!]
Austinites who want to join:
Facebook: I started a group Knit for a Cause - Join and discuss new meeting locations, charities/causes, etc!
Twitter: Reply to me @AJthePurple, and I'll start a Knit for a Cause list :-)
Thank you everyone for a great night!
